Mark created WorkPlay Solutions in 2021 with one thought in mind. “Work is an essential part of life, but it doesn’t have to suck.” Utilizing 20 years of experience as a facilitator, trainer, designer, and project manager he is on a mission to return joy and purpose to the workplace.
After years of volunteering with various foster care ministries, Mark and his wife Alice became foster parents. Mark and Alice fostered two beautiful baby girls that were eventually reunited with their families after long placements. In 2020, the Suroviec's adopted Lucy into their "forever family." They believe every child deserves a loving family.
Mark is driven by getting the job done, continuous improvement, and making life better for all. He has a gift for analyzing and identifying the root causes of issues, creative solutions, and engaging learners. That serious side is balanced by his playful spirit, office pranks, and telling of fake “Mark Facts”. When he’s not spending time with his wife and two daughters, he’s probably playing disc golf, performing improv, or reading a good book.
Mark has led programs and trainings for over 20,000 people. He graduated from Springfield College with a Master's Degree in Psychology. His certifications include Challenge Course Manager (CCM), Challenge Course Practitioner - Level 2, and Kirkpatrick Certified Professional - Bronze Level.
