How does the UnConference work?
A professional facilitator leads UnConference attendees to create the agenda based on two questions:
What do I need?
What do I have to offer others?
Attendees are the presenters and vice versa.
If a session isn’t meeting your needs, you obey the “law of two feet” and walk out to something else.
Why is the format so effective?
It eliminates up to 90% of the time and expenses of planning a traditional conference. It is the most efficient way to develop a large group of professionals. There is no need to vet workshops or speakers ahead of time.
It allows for ultimate flexibility. Did you love a session you attended? Great! Add another one on the fly.
Improved diversity. Professionals who would never submit a workshop proposal at a traditional conference are willing to lead a session or discussion.
How much time do we need?
The UnConference event needs to be at least a full day long. Depending on the number of participants and their goals, UnConferences are typically two or three days long.
